Default Lowering Springs vs Adjustable Coilovers

Hey, im still running stock shocks and i dont have enough cash to save to get better shocks, but what would you recommend? coilovers or lowering springs (drop of like 1.5 inf ront, 1.25 or so in the back) and obviously adjustable coilovers.. thanks !

I would rather get lowering springs unless you plan on getting a full coilover.

Very true in terms of ride quality.

The only thing I don't like about regular lowering springs is that if you are not happy with how low it is there is really nothing you can do but get a new set of springs and then your back at square 1. I would go with a set of ground control or skunk2 coil-overs and a set of KYB AGX's since money is an issue, if you get a little more $ to play with then go with Koni yellow's or tokico illumina's.

when you say "really good", does that include a somewhat soft ride? i mean, im not looking for cadillac style but it doesnt feel like your back is gonna break when you go over some rough streets, does it?

Hmm. Depends on the spring rates however on a 5th gen civic and with the struts on the softest setting it really isnt rough.

The ride should feel performance oriented but not jarring. It also depends on your tire profile. I run 50 profiles and that helps with the bumps.

The slight hardness in the ride is no sacrifice compared to the fun factor in cornering.
