when was the earliest year this motor was produced and what vehicle did it reside in ?

 

i know the early 90's prelude had a b21 and another had the b20

 

i found out they were made here as early at 88 for preludes .. just wondering if anyone knew if they were any earlier over there .

 

But the earliest worthwhile B20 (the B20B) was produced in 1997.

 

yeah, i'm not thinking of buying .. a friend of mine said he found a "jdmb20" for 700 complete so i'm trying to convince him its not what hes looking for and prob old as heck .

 

for $700 it is very doubtful that it is a CRV b20.
the CRV's had B20b/Z's
the preludes had B20a3/5 &b21a1

I have heard that the old B20's arent very reliable either. you might want to check on the net to see if they are even related to the other b-series motors, ie the mount points might not be the same, or diff blocks & heads. you could also ask the peeps in the lude forum.

 

by the way the B20z was also used in the SMX. that could be where that motor is from but it is doubtful.

what is the difference in the B20 just the pistons?
