Default Supercharged type r's i got a question for you

For thoes of you running a supercharger on your itr with the stock bottom end. are you using a thicker head gasket or a stock oem one.

i am debating on weather or not to get the inline pro 2mm head gasket witch will drop compression to 9.5:1 or just keep stock compression.

i am running stock boost, and stock headgasket. no problems at all. drove it 250+ miles each way to indy last september in 90+ degree heat for the F1 race with 4 other people in the car. no problems at all. no need to change headgaskets. i would recommend the IM gasket though ...

Yes the stock headgasket is fine. For $50, you can't go wrong with the IM gasket, though. I'd recommend you install the IM gasket as you install the jrsc because it's a beotch to install the gasket when the blower is on the car.

Dude im running a Garett t28 roller bearing
on my itr at 8 psi with 9.6:1 if i ran boost higher than 14 id shoot a rod through the side of the block
so put it this way if you want to run high psi u better do the math or pay the consequences
high compression on forced induction = very hot engine and internal crankcase pressure

well i am doing a vsc kit. trevor at superchargersonline.com is hooking me up with a custom kit. i dont want to get any higher whp then 275-300 and at 8psi that should be very easty to do once i get the car tuned.

sounds like ill stick to stock or the im. (by the way what is the im gasket)

aem cai intake spoon 4 2 1 header spoon cat jack kakimoto R 2.5 exhaust and hondata tuning tuning tuning. but i think my motor is just a freak. ill pull on any other type r with similar mods before i had my hondata but at least 1 car link or more. and i have driven others r and they dont pull like mine does.

my car was the last one sold in the SW reigen. but maybe just maybe when they where putting my motor together the guy was very happy that day and did a extra good job on the p&p or something.

i cant wait till i see what the vsc does untuned and the after its tuned WOW i hope its good.

vsc = vortech? worst of both worlds. parasitic drag and no low end. i am not a fan of those in principle. but they can make some good numbers at the track.

i dont really care that much about low end. yeay its better for daily driving but most street racing and most racing is 5000 and above and thats where vsc makes the best power. yes the jrsc make great tq # below that. but i am going to have traction problems as it is.

to each his own

Yeah those are awesome numbers for the mods. Are they corrected? I wouldn't go as far to say you pull any other R with similar mods. Mine ran a 13.7@100.4 with just an intake and header on stock exhaust. It also trapped 100.89mph with only 173whp . Oh and its also stock weight and on street tires as well. With 20whp more your trap seems pretty low. Wonder why that is?

The only question I have, is why not go with turbo. I mean I know there is alot of debate about this. I would say go with a turbo though. Just my .02

I agree. I have a jrsc and I love it, but the only advantage that a supercharger has over a turbo is the low end. If you want high peak HP then go turbo.

BTW 193 whp for your mods is great. Maybe I could add a few horses just by going to your dyno.

And to answer your original question, the stock gasket is fine. Especially with the hondata tuning. If you decrease your compression ratio the you will have less power when not unde boost.

2 years, 20,000 miles. Stock internals, stock compression. No problems here.

i dont want to turbo. i have researched this for about 6 mounths and the vsc is what i want.

i have only raced the type R's around where i live and i beat them all the same. i think it really takes a good driver to drive the type r to its limits.
