B&M FPR and pressure gauge install question
I am trying to install the B&M FPR and fuel gauge.
Going into a 93 civic with jdm h22.
Question:
I hacked off 1/4" of the top part of the stock FPR, and inside is a "piece" that goes up and down (where the stock fpr spring sits).
I'm tryin to dig up some batteries to I can take a picture of this damn thing.
But do I need to take this out or leave it in there?
When trying to put on the B&M top piece, it won't go on perfectly with that piece inside there.
If this makes any sense at all (lol), please help out for those of you who have B&M FPR's or have installed.
and one last question:
should I install the fuel pressure gauge on the fuel filter or the fuel rail?
TIA.

Brandon, I left it in.
Without it, I don't think you could decrease/improve flow without the stock internal valve...as the B&M doesn't come with a new one.
Also, the new spring with the B&M fits perfectly on top of the stock valve inside the prelude FPR body.
If you cut it out.....the new spring would just be bouncing around in there...without the stock valve, you'd just be flowing like 100psi non stop, because you couldn't reduce it.
if it won't sit flush with it in place, you might need to trim a little more off of the outside FPR body...because mine fit perfect. Just gotta compress the spring a lil and hold it in place as you're tightening it.

you probably can install the guage either on the fuel rail or fuel filter. mines on top of my fuel filter. leave the spring and diaphram in when you put you fpr together, just keep at it until you get i guess.
hmm...i'm reading directions on Cspeed..and it says to cut out the stock spring and diaphram, but then to only put in the new spring.
It doesn't say anything about putting the diaphram back in.
I don't see how you can adjust anything without it being in there?
I thought I did it right...but now it seems like I didn't.

do NOT cut out the diaphragm. Just cut the top off the stock, pull out the spring, put in the B&M spring, and put the B&M top on and bot it together. Very simple.

kinda late on this I install my gauge on the fuel filter but other people tend to say it's more accurate if you install it on the fuel rail but I kinda disagree due to the vibration on the engine and such. for the fpr sorry I bought the aem fpr so I don't have to deal with cutting up my fpr, that way when smog comes around I can always return the stock fpr back to engine for the california infamous visual inspection by the smog *****

Yeah, good advise. I have installed it on the fuel filter. As for the B&M, I am in utah, they wouldn't even know what an FPR is.
