Default ITR sleeper look?

So how many ITR owners feel the need to remove the 'ITR' decals, wing, OE alloys, etc in an attempt to hide their car from theives?

I have thought about buying a FBP/NBP and removing the said ****, throwing on some black wheels w/ black lugs to reduce the Type R obvious 5 lug appearance, and tinting the hell out of it.

How far can this go?

i would think tint could draw MORE attention

put on a GS-R wing as well instead of jus leaving it wingless

but in terms of how far it can go....it'll help
not sure how much

Black aftermarket wheels are obviously not stock, so they will draw more attention. And when they see the 5 lug, they'll start guessing if it's a gsr/ls with some stuff done to it or an actual R.

sure, the tint and wheels would draw more attention, but how many of us have seen modified Integras? it just seems logical to make it impossible to see the tachometer and seats, which would be dead giveaways.

i thought about the GS-R wing too.

i just don't like the thought of having to mess with a beautiful car simply for peace of mind. that's exactly why if i do end up with an R, it will most definitely have only one sticker: a Glock one. you can have your Clifford, i have my chosen theft protection.

NONE of this crap will keep your car from being stolen!

If your so concerned with theft, then buy a Subaru or VW. Otherwise buy a beater, cuz if you don't you won't be an ITR owner for very long...

tinted windows make it easier for a theif to get into your car, the windows wont shatter making it quieter. sell your interior, put some GSR seats in, and throw in an LS tach. If you really want to make it sleeper. Get some hubs off a CL or TL and ur set.

So basically you're telling him to destroy a perfectly good Type R so it looks like **** and becomes worthless, and it can still get stolen if theives even suspect it has a vtec in it

I thought about doing this, but I didn't buy the car just to turn around and make it look like garbage. All model integras get stolen, so making it look like a GSR or LS was pointless to me.
When I got to the point of worrying about parking it all the time, and driving the beater more and more, it was time to sell.
Don't get me wrong its a great car especially for the money, but the hassles that come along with it aren't worth it for what it actually is.

I disagree...I think the car is totally worth it.

Don't get me wrong...I have the same concerns you do about my car getting stolen, much like everyone does. But I don't let this ruin my driving experience. Drive one & you'll see what I mean...I hate to drive other cars now!

I will say that the theft #'s leave me feeling queesy (fo sheezy!), but all Integras are targets, probably no matter what they look like. Please don't ruin such a beautiful car because you're afraid it'll get stolen...

Any suggestions about security, please let us know...I need some ideas too. I can have a garage in my apartment complex, but it is gated. Does this even help, other than to (slightly) deter thieves?

I don't feel the need to "hide" my car's identity, first off its YELLOW and there is not much I could do to hide it anyway. But I do take precausions and some security mesures.

If your really going to get an ARrrr then be a wise person and take a look at where you live and what your surroundings are befoe the leap.

Like I said, I sold mine becuase the benefits didn't out weigh the hassles for me. I owned mine for almost 2 years.

I rolled wingless for a long time, and have been stickerless for months. I'm not an idiot, if a real thief wants my car they'll know what it is and get it. I didnt do that stuff for security. I simply was going for a higher level of anonymity. I can drive my mom to the grocery store without having five stunna's rev on me. Worth it to me.

As for ruining my car, blah blah blah and all that, I dont know why you bought your type r, but the stickers were the last thing on my mind.....

Bash up the fenders; do a four lug conversion; and pour beer all over your seats and dash so that no one will want them.

I'd hardly say that wingless/stickerless is ruining a Type R. But swapping out the gauge cluster for an LS one and dropping in some GSR leather y0! Is definetly ruining one.

Nothing wrong with wingless, I actually like the clean lines. But since I'm a freeway maniac that runs way into triple digits, I need the downforce

Wheels with lug covers would help also, allow you to keep the five lug but go stealth with it...

Yeah, and I didn't mean removing the wing and stickers was ruining it! (N00b doesn't = dumbass). I would consider changing the spoiler so I would have an easier time seeing Buttstang GT's in the rearview! Actually I like the spoiler because it carries the lines of the car well, and it isn't terribly big. I am glad you got yours back though Rob.

And I didn't buy the car for the stickers or wing...I bought it because the thing rox! The stickers and wing are merely identifiers, but the people who I care about knowing what it is would know without those things. People still ask me if it's a Hype-R though...
