need help, car dies periodically and i don't know why
ok here's the deal, 90 civic si with a sotck b16a except civic type-r cams, converted usdm wiring to jdm wiring...so anyway, sometimes, when its cold, i'll turn on my car and it'll start up normally but then die as soon as it revs back down...ie: it'll turn on, rev to bout 1200 rpm then come back down to 750 rpm and die...its kinda like having hi-lift cams in a motor and at idle, the car just stalls on its own...also, after it dies, i try to start it again, but all it does is crank...what could it be? the only codes my ecu are throwing are vtec oil pressure sensor and o2 codes...any help appreciated
Maybe since it's a cold start (runs rich) and throwing an o2 code (also makes it run rich) are making it run too rich to idle? that's my stab at it
my car does the same exact thing. but i was think since i didnt change my stock hf fuel pump that it could be causing it not to run enough fuel to the injectors. what kind of fuel pump are you running?

i'm running stock 90 si fuel pump..the weird thing is, i've had my swap for about 2 years now and its never done it till about 3 months ago...i don't know what it is and its occurring more often- 2 times in the past 3 days now...
I don't know if it's the fuel pump because I have the same problem and I got a new gas tank, fuel lines, and fuel pump in early december.

what about your eacv Electronic air control valve. after you warm your car up this being bad could make it stall and while warming up it could also make it stall. on the b16a its behind the throttle body, check this out. Also try fixing your O2 sensor's this could make some cylinders run lean and you dont want that.

I'm putting my bet on main relay. It seems like the do it more often when really hot, but that's what it sounds like to me. The relay doesn't turn the fuel pump on. The car fires from the fuel and fuel pressure left in the fuel system, stalls out, then won't start again because the pump isn't coming on. It's a periodic problem. Switch your relay out and see what happens.
clearances for cams are correct, i'll try main relay and eacv....d16 eacv's are the same as b16's right?
