When I start my 93 EX if revs up to 3000 rpm and just stays there, after I've been driving for awhile it drops to normal, I know that the engine normally revs higher when cold but not that high, if anyone could help I would appreciate it. Would it be my fast idle valve? I have had it adjusted before at Honda, but that was to stop the constant reving of the engine on its own. Can the fast idle valve go bad?

 

is your timing advanced all the way?? i'd check that first.....second, i'd look into the fast idle/IAC valve and adjust......if that doesnt fix it, come back and we'll be glad to help ya out
