I was involved in a race with a JDM CTR (pics inside)
There was prety big show/drag event yesterday.
One of the attratctions was a race between a JDM CTR and my 99 Canadian spec ITR (both had only an AEM cai)
The first race I beat him by about 3-4 carlenghts. I ran 14.45 and he ran 15.08. The second race was a little closer. I ran 14.51 and he ran 14.82.
Just thought you guys might be interested to hear about it. They say his car is real JDM but it has stock civic rear seats. He also told me it costed him $33000 canadian with shipping to get it here. That's around $22000 US total. I'm not accusing the guy of lying I'm just stating some facts that would need to be clarified for me to believe. I'll let you guys know.

what makes you not believe that it is a jdm ctr? is it the fact that you beat him in the 1320 or what?
im no expert but i believe from what i've seen that it looks real... but then again the red door panels are photoshoped and what happened to the black housing headlights?
neways... maybe its all legit and he cant drive?

oh and on a side note.... does the 96-98 jdm ctr have side moldings? cause if it does... then im almost guaranteeing that that is a fake... cause i mean common whos gonna buy a jdm ctr and flush the side moldings right away.

DannyITR showed us pics of the supposed "JDM CTR" before, and people already posted that the JDM CTR was fake.

As you can see, the SUPPOSED "JDM CTR" in both pictures is the same car as noted by the white headlight covers in both pictures.

that is not a real CTR..no side moldings like a real CTR. where are the Recaros? those are canadian ITR seats in red. where is the red stiched shift boot and ****? why did the gauge cluster go from red needles to yellow needles? a real CTR wouldnt have that radio either... did u check the engine stamp? was it B16B? some guy just swapped parts and threw in some JDM stuff.

I'm doubting it's a real one because of the small details. The door panels, the white headlight housing, stock rear seats (not shown). I mean, I guess it's possible to have them changed but why?
And by the way, I expected to whip his *** in the race. Aslo, nothing is photoshopped! I don't know where you get off saying that.

It's a CTR front end clip. They basically chopped a U.S. hatchback up and put on a JDM front clip. Notice how the antenna pillar is still on the left side instead of the right. And yes, the real CTR still has side moldings.

Nice pics! I can't tell if it is real, looks nice. What was under the hood? ITR engine or the 1.6 Type R? Just wondering

Check out the shift **** in both of the pics. It looks like it has an "R" on it. I don't think CTRs come with a shift know that says "R." It's still a pretty nice car, regardless.

that is not a real JDM CTR,
1: dash should come in black instead of grey
2:antenna suppose to sit on top of driver side (right side)
3:JDM rear side glass suppose to come tinted real dark just like the glass on the hatch
4:JDM CTR should come with tinted headlights
5.JDM pre 98 model shouldnt come with those centre console, it should come with the pop out glass holder
6.JDM CTR doesnt have the dash dimmer (below the right a/c duct)
this is 100% JDM that my friend had.
look at the coin pocket under the a/c vent
note the c pilar window, its real black, JDM style
