Default Couple of pics of the SMSP adapter

Here are 2 pictures that displays the SMSP adapter to b-pipe connection. I am currently running a Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust, Carsound cat, and Toda header. (The connection from OEM b-pipe and factory cat contains this same bottleneck.) Hopefully we'll see some cheap hp gains at the dyno next month. The black is spray paint that helps with rust prevention. Thanks again for the help on Sunday, Dave! See ya next month

What the price on the adapter, and is it available in S/S or only mild?

How much did you pay for it to be installed?

SpecR0123 & R134-

Please e-mail your questions to Dave at smsproducts@carolina.rr.com. He can answer any questions you have regarding price/availability as I am not at liberty to comment on that. Thanks

I already have one on order from Dave. I'm getting a stainless one. I just was wondering how much a muffler shop would charge to put it on. I don't know if I should take off the pipe and bring it to them or just drive it in and let them worry about it.

Yes, they are available in both mild and stainless steel.

FYI, I will be installing my prototype adjustable 2-1/2" cat back mandrel bent system on RStoR's car this weekend.

typerjason, the tanabe has the same bottleneck at the b-pipe that the stock b-pipe has? Who installed it for you? I got mine installed at Midas and they did a shitty *** job. Yours looks great compared to mine.

What item are you asking about; the Tanabe or SMSP adapter? I did the Tanabe install myself, while Dave welded the adapter on this past weekend. I'm fortunate to be local to Dave, so needless to say I was quite pleased at the fact I wouldn't need to visit a muffler shop. Sorry I couldn't suggest anyone.

Yes the Tanabe has a 2" OD bottle neck (1-7/8" ID) for a couple of inches. Jason was running a 2-1/2" Carsound cat for a couple of weeks and in the second picture you can see the exhaust deposit on the flange face due to the mismatch of the tubing IDs. Using a stock ITR B pipe is even worse since the ID of that bottle neck is 1-3/4".
