I know you checked the fuses already, but did you check the ones under the hood?
If so, you might want to go ahead and rewire. Or atleast trace the wire to the other end, and do a continuity test. Good Luck!

I was thinking of just rewiring since all the fuses check out. My question is where do the wires from the fuel pump run to, the main power relay or the fuse block? Anybody ever just wire it up to a switched power? I would ultimately like to just replace the stock wiring, just am having a hard time seeing where it goes past the loom were it goes up into the dashboard. And if I do just find a switched power, it is bad to do this long term? with no pump priming for 2 seconds then shutting off, etc.

there is a problem with the power or ground running to the pump... yes you can turn on your pump via a direct powered switch... it will operate the pump but if the ecu varies voltage to the pump for variing fuel needs then it will not operate properly... I belive all fuel metering is done via the injectors.

This should solve your problem but not fix it... if you get me...

MAKE SURE YOU FUSE THE DIRECT POWER LINE.

have you tried sending direct power to the power lead going to the pump past the relay/fuses...

or grounded the pump closer to it?

The problem is almost definatly with one of the actuall wires running to the pump you may have sinched it in a bolt or cut it or torn it loose by accident... you best bet is to follow along the wire suppling power every couple of feet to see where the break is..

I take it you don't have a manual... If it's for a 92-95 I can email or transfer it to you....

good luck

when I run straight power to it it turns on and pumps like a champ. I do have a manual and I went thru their list of what to check, no luck. I was a bit pissed off at the car when I checked the wire for bad spots, may have to check again tomorrow with a clear head. thanks for the help thus far man.

All I can suggest is to trace the wire, even if that means taking the loom off the harness.
