I can tell you how many times I shifted and at what RPM I was at but, not speeds (my instructor would know though) and definitely not track times.

HPDE's don't time you, thats not what it's all about and besides, many insurance companies will not cover damage at races/timed events.

We were there to learn and enjoy ourselves,,, well most of us that is...

I did ask George in class what a decent time was considered and he said 1:09 to 1:10, I can't however tell you who that was, most likely instructors and advanced students.

I had very, very informally and imperfectly timed the King DC5 at about 1:05, and a few of the Instructors around 1:10.

Well in your first session, when I rode with Dave, and you passed us, after 2 more laps, you were 1/2 a lap ahead of us... As we entered the front straight, you were coming up the front chicane turns #5 and #6... That car is brutally fast.

I timed a few of the quicker guys with my crappy watch, so its not dead on accurate.
Warren I timed at around the 1:09-1:11 range, I timed him for quite a few laps
Dropspeed was also at the 1:10 range, I think he got a high 1:09 as well on one of the laps I timed him
Wes I timed with a mid 1:09
Sackdz recorded at 1:09 flat on his hot lap timer so that one is accurate
I heard from others that some one got Colletti going 1:05 and King doing a 1:04 wow

Anyway, I think if you were going under 1:11, you were moving!

8 of my laps were unofficially timed in one session and the best was a 1:12.6 I believe

I got Warren with a 1:09 in traffic with a passenger, can't remember any other times.

I am getting rolled so many times I doubt I'll be anywhere near the low 1:10's
Then again, I don't really care other then this time, I am back home in one piece. Although I still hit that civic in the parking lot , I better stop this "hit something" streak when going out to track days.

Bobby turned a string of 1:09's with passenger and some traffic. I heard times for the m00gen car as low as 1:04.xx

Reviewing a handful of laps on my in-car camera puts me in the 1:12s. I was sacrificing allot of time in the back section of the track. I never took the blind corner very hard and I held off going full out in the kink because I didn't want to deal with shifting from 5th to 2nd so I just coasted through the back third of the track at the top of 4th. The car was plenty capable of turning out sub 1:10s laps but I just wasn't prepared to take it there.

Since this was my first event of the year I'm not all that unhappy with my times. I played it safe and made sure I could drive home Only now I'm suffering major withdrawal.

I got Dropspeed at about 1:12 on his first session at the track, Warren did a 1:10 with me in tow and a bit o traffic on one of the straights, some lift required.

People I know up there:

A guy who drives a pretty wickedly prepared M3 is in the 1:07-08 range, Kent Rafferty (SM national champ) ran a 1:05 in his turbo supra on AutoX hoosiers last year when i was there.

1:04 =

EDIT: And i think i heard some lap record stuff was in the just under a minute range, that might have been motorcyles. Dunno if they've had anything with significant downforce run there yet.

I only used a timer for about 4-5 laps, and my best time out of those few was a low 1:08. All of the rest were 1:09:xx. And all of these times were with a passenger, in traffic.
I was however, running nose to tail with the Yellow Colleti car for about half a session(we're the ones that peppered Turn 10 with gravel, and caused a cleanup delay ..Sorry) ...the black colleti car couldn't keep up with us.

And why is that? I actually timed Bryan very close to that on one lap. Plus George's suspension IMO is shot. I drove the car once with a passenger and it was like a pogo stick in the rear.

Yep Corey was in the 1:12's with the Accord

thats with a probable whooping 115 HP to the wheels

I pulled a 1:14 in the Accord

wher would that put the Accord with 70 more HP?

Do you think it would make a good H1 car?

Thanks for posting your times Morgan. That sort of gives me an idea of what ballpark I am in.

I think there is a spare H22 block in my shop

4 door race cars rock! A little OT here but I love this pic of my car even though I built some ugly flares for it.
