Default B18b.....

Im looking into picking up a B18B for my 1993 honda civic dx coupe and I have two questions: First off: What is needed for the swap, and is it hard. Second: Where can I get a good deal on this motor, how mouch should I expect to pay and what should I look to come with this motor.

how much u willing to spend. put together u need.
b series starter . ls trans. recomend bigger radiator. like ex auto is fine. ls rear mount. could use old mount for the rest. recomend new clutch since u go it out. and other minor tune up sparks. etc..could use your old harness.. might need to streach it. or if moter comes with it use b series one.. thottle cable from ls or u could rig old one like me if u dont care how it looks. clean ls manifold ,,, and new manifold casket..all te bolts use your old ones ...also header any b series. axles intermediate (middle) driverand passenger.. could get u passenger and driver rebuilt 65 each al new parts plus ur old ones.mail Infantry23@aol.com

I'm considering same swap. What I know you need is motor, tranny, b series shift linkage, b series axels, ecu. What id like to know is what mounts are needed? at first I thought you needed all b series mounts... but i've read that you mix mounts... which mounts in which spots i dont know and hope someone will answer for him and I.

okay...here's everything.

purchase LS complete change over (your going to need everything), get your hands on a OBD1 P75 ecu (even if you have an OBD2 motor this ecu will work fine)....make sure you get tranny, axles, shift linkage (stock will work). the install is a straight bolt in affair, nothing different then swappin in another D series motor. its kinda like level 1 in swapping.

expect anywhere from 1200 to 2700 depending on year. I got my swap installed and out the door for 2200. I got a VERY low mileage 98 B18B motor. 14K mile i believe. good luck, but seriously.... i would look into getting a SI/GSR tranny. it will be the best thing for that motor, also a lightened flywheel and steet clutch, reprogrammed ecu from katman at jdmhondaparts.com and you will be hanging with the GSR swapped hatches

i actually pieced together my 95spec B18B1, and i came out paying $1300 for all...

99 LS tranny, 95 LS motor (65k miles), new gaskets, p75, water pump, timing belt, linkage, mounts, and oil/plugs= $1300 if you shop SMART

remember, good things come to those who wait
