I put a header on my civic and a cat back. Now i have a wicked rattle all the time klike a nut got dropped in my exuast but nope no nut. any ideas how to get the rattle to stop? im thinking about wrappin it with header wrap think it will work?

 

im thinking heatshield...does it feel like under your seat...or is it actually comming from the rear of your car...?

Same thing happened to my boy once he put on his header and cat...heatsink made all kinda crazy noises...

 

Everytime I have seen (or heard) this problem it comes down to the heat shield or a little break in time may be needed for the exhaust to settle.

 

did u put on the o ring gasket for the header

 

My apexi N1 was hitting my gas tank so I had a technician check it out and what he did was heat up the hangers and "shape" them a bit. It is perfect now.

 

had this prob with all y cars. 1st was heat shield. and tougt was shield but still made noise.. look inside, cat it was busted.. honeycomb inside bkoke into pieces. so i flushed the cat.. 3rd friend blew my b16 pieces of pistons and rod in cat when new motor was put in..noise again after i cleaned it. lookedatit today actually.. 02 sensor was loose tightened noise stop..or could be hangers rsr made noise cause hangrs took a pipe and twisted it away from gas tank went away... hope it helps..

 

its rattling under the block, i dont have a heat shield im running catless, and its not hitting anything as far as i see its just rattling ima take it to a performance exuast shop to see whats up most likley im throwin on the turbo so i should be be great . thanks a bunch for the help though
