how to get the shift linkage off the tranny???

Default how to get the shift linkage off the tranny???

how do i disconnect the shift linkage from my ls(Y1) tranny?

easy, you pound out the little pin that holds it on there. AKA the bitch pin... Is tranny out of the car? That would make things 10 times easier.... Just unblot everything from the shifter and then pull it out with the tranny and then pound it out, if not, have fun pounding that out.

use a exhaust bolt...
bc i dont know by head the size of the punch u gotta use for it....

yes that is correct. dont think that a tapered punch or slightly smaller punch will work, because this "shortcut" is really the long way and its what gets people into trouble in the first place. the reason is it actually makes the pin bigger since the smaller punch is being wedged into it, thus making it tighter and tighter in the hole. i'm sure an exhuast bolt would work as mentioned above; just make sure its big enough (wide enough).
