motor will not rev past 3500 rpms?
i have a second gen. b16a in my 94 civic coupe. the other day i was driving down the freeway at 80 mph when all of a sudden my car started to cut out. now, when my car is at operating temperature the motor will not rev past 3500 w/o cutting out. i have not tried to get a cel code b/c when i turn the igntion off the cel disappears until i attempt to rev past 3500. any help will be appreciated.
check for codes. you also might be having a fuel delivery issue, or something with internals of the distributor.
either fuel, internals of distributor, or ecu is throwing a fuel cut off

im running a chipped p28 ecu courtesy of kenji.
also, when i run the car under 3500 rpms a cel code never appears. its only when i go over 3500 that the car seems to shuts down but it is still running. when this happens the cel appears. as soon as i turn off my car and re-start it the cel disappears and will only appear if the above occurs.
im gonna check for codes as soon as it stops raining. thanks.

you're most likely in limp mode. just not throwing the CEL.
if you're not throwing any codes, then check the following:
MAP sensor hooked up properly, and have enough vacuum from the TB.
also, make sure TPS and MAP sensor harness plugs are not mixed up
your MAP readings can be off just by something blocking it a little.
If you have verified those, try cleaning your throttle body, and also cleaning off MAP sensor hole in the TB.

it took a while but i eneded up pulling code # 4 which is CKP Sensor (Crankshaft Position Sensor) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor.
the code disappears everytime i shut off the car. so i left the paperclip in the service connector and then started my car and made the check engine light come on by revving past 3500 rpms. it just falshed 4 short time. thanks for all your help.
