I was being an idiot doing reverse donuts and i threw it into first gear and when i went to go forward it wouldnt move. Now I hear this wierd noise comming from my drivers side tire area. I can put it into every gear without pushing in the clutch and it makes some wierd noise. Kinda like a grinding but not like grinding a gear. It gets louder as i shift gears. I have a b16a in my crx if that makes a difference.

Does anybody know what could be wrong.

How do your axles look ?

 

I have seen all the splines rip off the axle....

but Iwould guess that your tranny is toast..

One of the times I replaced my axles, i did not put one of them in the tranny all the way. Well as soon as I put down some power it stripped the splines off the axle. I could put it in gear without using the clutch. So what i would do is pull the axles and check the splines

 

thats what i was thinking to. A lot of people have been telling me different things. like it might be the cv joints the axles or the tranny. But i have been told it is really hard to blow up a tranny from doing what i was doing.

 

Pull it apart and find out... maybe it's something simple, like an axle. I just hope you didn't screw up the tranny, for the sake of your bank account.

 

reasons i am thinking its not the tranny is
None of the gears work but the axle is still spinning and making a really loud noise near the tire. If it was the tranny it would have probably made a really nasty noise when it happened. My mechanic friend just took a look at it and said the torque from going from reverse to drive really fast probably grinded the splines off the axle.

 

Yeah, you probably ground the splines off of the axle or broke the cv joint. You will have to look underneath the car to check.

 

If I did break an axle that means i have to get ones off of a 91-93 integra right?
Because i have a b16a1 in my car.

 

90-93 Non ABS will work.

HAhahhaha, damn those donuts, somtimes they are too hard to resist.

Well i found out i destroyed my cv joint. I broke that piece with the ball bearings in it in half. My friends dad who is a mechanic told me i will have to replace the whole axle because the cv joint piece comes on the new axle. is that true?
