I just wanted to thank thank Mrs. McGovern for making the trip out to the Expo, and for her powerful message during the banquet. I was just very touched by everything she had to say.

I never knew her son, but her words meant alot. Even if you have never met someone who is involved in a tradgedy like that, you feel it hits close to home. The sad part is, everyone drives carefully for a week or two then goes back to driving crazy. More accidents happen and more lives are lost. Please be careful

I paid attention to every word, took a LOT of guts for her to do that. to Mrs. McGovern.

Ya, what she said, hit home to me! My mom always says the same thing as I go to these driving events. And I always give her the same response Mrs. McGovern's son did too! It makes you think, we all know that we will be ok, telling our loved ones, but to hear it from a mother that had the unthinkable happen, it hurt me then and there!

Yep, for some reason it's always easier to listen to the advice of someone else's parents. I am thankful that she stopped by to provide that message and hope everyone listens to it and takes it to heart.

RIP Jodie.

 

I agree, that was very nice. I stood up to give her a hand, I'm sure that was hard for her.

I had the opportunity to talk to Mrs. McGovern last year.. I listened to what she said then, and it sounded identicle towhat my parents always say about driving carefully.

I'm glad that others have gotten a chance to hear her out as well. Lets all take this to heart and learn from it; hopefully we can prevent something like that from happening again.

 

I started to cry. Thank you, Mrs. McGovern, for stopping by at the Expo! It meant a lot to everyone of us.

 

Her speach was very touching to me, as well. Kind of puts things in perspective, too.

 

I wanted to get up and give her a hug for support. She kept it together and said a wonderful speach...

She gave an incredible speech and I think there were more than a few of us choking back some tears! I hope that it really opened some eyes in that room.

From a hospital bed for four days and a neck brace for six weeks, I've seen first hand what this sport can do if you **** up. Please be careful guys!

 

The McGoverns are delightful people, it was a pleasure sitting with her at the banquet. I think it's great that they're doing so much to celebrate his life and his passion for cars and driving, her speech was extraordinarily touching. Having know Jody i was having a hard time keeping the waterworks in check during her speech, becuase I could hear my own mom in Mrs. McGovern's voice.

When the raffle was going fast and furious, Mrs. McGovern heard her number called and came back with a plastic bag that had somthing small and black in it. She held it out for us to determine what it was, it was a JDM Integra Type R number plaque. We told her what it was and why it was significant, I think she was touched. And we assured her that it would add at least 5-10 horsepower to any vehichle she chose to mount it to

I was touched by her speech alot. I think it meant alot to everyone. I think at one point in time or another every driver has heard their mother say those exact words. Thank you for coming out Mrs. McGovern!
