1/4 Mile Times With B18B Civics
well this may help a little my two friends raced one a 2000 si and a ek hatch with b18b. the si had i/h/e and the hatch clutch flywheel and intake. the si won by about 3-4 cars and we think it will pull between 14.8-15.3, we have not gotten a chance to run them a t the track yet. that is my .02

Talk to "nonvtec allmotr" on this board, he ran 12.64@106.9 all motor b18b!!
EDIT: He hit that time with his B20 setup, but I believe he hit mid to high 12s with his all motor b18b!

Think of regular LS's running 15.9-16.2
LS's weigh about 2600 lbs. EG hatches weigh as light as 2094.
So think of a b18b civic with you (the driver) and 2 passengers as an regular LS.i dunno what im talkin about.

Not to jack your thread or anything... but by how much time would you drop if you had a Gsr or Si tranny on the b18b? Would it be a dramatic difference(like .5 a second) or a just shave some time off? I'm only asking because I plan to put a b18b w/ Gsr tranny in a 2,300lb car and was wondering what times I would run(hoping for low 15's... high 14's if the track gods love me to death).

It's all hype IMHO. I've seen WAYYYYYY too may people not drop their times at all.
Non VTEC motors don't have a VTEC powerband..why would you need a VTEC tranny?
Granted some people will benefit a little.
But I really don't know where the Hype came from for it....it seems like a waste of $$$ to me.
My car ran a best of 14.8@91 with a b18b. Just intake and catback on stock tires, full interior, and A/C. It's a '92 CX.
I raced a few modded 00+ Si's...Intake/header/exhaust/tuned. From a stop, I could usually pull them easily.
From a roll, if they were already in VTEC, it took a while to jump out to a lead.
