Default Are there any negatives to leaving your car primered for a while?

I want to strip the fadeing red paint on my 91 civic hatch I just bought and leave it primered dark grey or black until I can afford to get a good paint job. Has anyone done this and had any probelms? thankx

I know a few guys that have stripped their CRX's and Civic's down to the bare metal and thrown alot of clearcoat on it and it looks sweet. Has to be done right though obviously or it could end up looking like ***.
