I went to buy a new CV boot for my 00 Civic Si and found that it was a dealer only part (means big $$). Does anybody know if I could use one from a different honda? I tried crossreferencing part #'s but had no luck. I was wondering if a LS Integra would be the same axles??

 

um, they are available from any parts store. i get em all the time. 15$ for a complete boot kit.
boot
2 clamps
snap rings
and grease

carparts.com has em for 16 bucks.

 

I stopped by three parts stores and two honda dealers today and nobody had them in stock.....and the Honda dealer wanted $28 for a boot kit. So, i wish i lived by you so i could get parts...

 

honestly, thats with my shop discount but 28 for a boot kit from honda is good. thats not a bad price. and you get better clamps.

 

just get a complete new axle.... they have life time warranty on them. go to Pep boy's or autozone, they arent expesnvie. with out core exchange it is 120 with exchange it is only 55.00 . best part is, if they ever break, take them back they give you a new one. i have done this several times. In the long run , it will save you money.

See my sig, i have a 99 SI.
After purchasing the car i realized that passenger side cv boot is tron, i drove on it for couple of hundered miles, no probs. But i decided not to push my luck. So i CALLED autozone, and this is what the guy said.
Sir, its a dealor item only.
No one will have it, pepboys, orielly, only honda would have it.
i said ok thanks and hung up.

Next week i went to the same autozone to get some tools and i decided to ask the guy if they had the cv boot, and guess what they had 3 in stock. yes three in stock. The bastard salesman lied to me. I bought it for 10 bucks, and it came with

1. CV boot.
2. 2 clamps
3. Screws
4. Greece.

the best part about this cv boot is not only that its cheap, not that it has lifetime warrently. But you don't have to pull your axle out to change it. Simply just tear the old one out, and slip this new one in, and put screws in and than clamps.

I have it on my si and it works GREAT.

 

Hay i think i saved the package that the cv boot came in, just in case.
PM me i can give you the part number, and the manufacture so you can just go and ask for the part number. Its only 10 bucks, and comes with everything, Plus a lifetime warrenty you can do better than that.

 

i wish somebody would design a steel braded/re-enforced cv boot. **** this has to be the shittiest design anyone ever made...
