I'm gonna get the Zex/Comp cam #59300 for my mini-me. This is the street/strip performance cam. Do I need to upgrade my springs and retainers?

it doesn't give you the specs of that cam on the website. I don't think it's to aggresive, so i think you'll be ok with stock springs and retainers. i would try and get specs tho.

 

I ended up ordering Comp Cams. I guess comp cams makes zex? Comp sells zex cams on their website that have the exact same specs.

yea you'll be fine with stock springs and retainers. The lift on that cam isn't to high plus it says works fine with stock components!

 

You're looking at the street/strip cam right? If you are then I guess I'll run the stock valve train for now until I can save up for the springs and retainers. thanks!

 

do the A6 pistons have enough clearance for the valves with this cam?
