crx e-brake question????
Ok, What would make only 1 wheel lock up in the back when i pull my e-brake? THe cable gets tight, and its not broken, but only 1 tire locks up when i pull it. I know the rear are self adjusting, and maybe its not tight, and i heard you go in reverse and put on the brackes to adjust it. Is this correct? If anyone has any ideas why this might be, please let me know.
its opposite for me, my back drivers side doesn't lock up if i pull the e-brake. I can hear the cable pull inside the rotors when the brake is pulled but its just not locking up. its no fun in the snow, can't whip the back *** around as good.

Have you checked the pads? If they are worn down they might not be able to adjust far enough to engage. As far as going in reverse to tighted the rear brakes....I don't think it makes any difference.

one of your e-brake cables is prob. siezed up, you can try lubing them but will prob. have to be replaced, as far as going in reverse to adjust, that doesnt work you must adjust the the little wheel inside the drum that spreads the shoes, in fact drum brakes to achieve opt. performance should be adjusted reg., the nice thing about it is, that you can dial the e-brake in really tight. when putting new shoes or just adj. brakes you should feel some resistance on the drum when spinning
maybe one of your e-brake cables came loose or something. i wouldn't think it would be the shoes being too worn down, cause both sides should be at the same level of wear.
I wouldnt definately first make sure that when you pull the cable that both of the parking brake lines are moving and like someone above stated make sure that it isnt seized. It also could be that your brakes are out of adjustments as well because yes one could wear down faster than the other since you will never get both side adjusted exactly the same oh and no the going into reverse thing doesnt work as many people have already stated. So check and make sure they both move the simplest way would be to take off your parking brake cover and just look at the lines there and verify that they both move BUT that doesnt mean that it still isnt seized or even snapped off somewhere, the next place would be at the drums themselves check there and make sure there both moving or you could just go and adjust the one that isnt locking up a little and see if that works?

Yeah, I remember when I put the brackes on, that i didn't spend much time adjusting the inside of the brackes, so I might take the drum back of and adjust it some more. Ill keep you posted if this workes.
