I just did the dumbest thing I've ever done to my CRX.
Well I finally calibrated my TPS at .5 for idle.. got done with that.. was in a good mood, my dad has this Gumout Carb Cleaner sittin on the shelf, someone had told me to clean my throttle body for better throttle response. So I thought the Carb Cleaner would clean up the butteryfly (it was dirty). Sprayed it in there and the first thing I notice is now my car idles weird (was perfect for the first time since I dropped the ZC in.. around 750rpm). My idle will go up to 1250rpm down to 750 then back up again and it'll do this over and over and over.. never stops. So I was pretty damn nervous at this point and I decided to take it for a spin and see if that'd help anything, my car has never been so SLOW. Its sluggish as hell, it still sounds healthy (took it up to 6K) but I dont feel ANYWHERE near as much pull as I had before I sprayed that **** in the TB. Does anyone know what my ****** dumb *** has messed up?
Here's a pic of the GumOut Cleaner I used:

Do you guys think this injection cleaner would help? I've used it a couple times before and it does help.

i have used that carb cleaner before..thats what i used to clean the inside of my intake manifold. but the manifold was off
anyways the sluggish its all the deposit and crap u just let loose... its getting into the combustion chamber.. that thing actually only works on carbs.. but on FI cars.. moves all the crap inside the pistons causin that loose in power... all i can say its get FI cleaner and put it on ur tank until all that crap gets all cleared.. unless u feel like taking the manifold off and finish cleanin it good..

Ok first off LMFAO- Now that I got that out of the way, Carb and choke cleaner evaporates very fast so what you may want to do is go drive it again by the time you see this message. It may have evaporated by now, If it still drives like crap what I suggest you do is prop the butterfly open and let it sit over night. If you would like, Prop a small fan near the opening to keep the air circulating so that the cleaner trapped way inside also evaporates. If this does not solve your problem then good luck I have no idea what to tell you. Hope this helps!
P.s. Do not spray more stuff in there!

I wont!
I just got some Seafoam and Im gettin ready to go use here in a sec. If that doesnt work then I'll do what u said.. leave the butterfly open overnight.

Well somethin happened, not sure if it was cuz of the Seafoam. I let it suck some up thru the brake booster vacuum hose so it went into the intake mani, put some of it in the engine oil, and the rest in the gas tank. I drove it around for a while and for a while there was no difference.. it was still idling up and down and really really slow. Then eventually it stopped doing the up and down thing and just idled at 1250 (still not 750, but better since the up and down stuff quit). Kept driving it, and now it idles at 1500 which sucks.. drove it a while and it started idling at 1000 and then by the time I got home and parked it it was idling back at 1500 again. I think Im gonna let it sit for a while and see if anything gets better. If not, I'm gonna leave the butterfly open overnight like suggested.
**** Im stupid, Im never touching that carb cleaner can again.

I had this problem once, and it also kept backfiring...
I got tired of it and said to myself... if this ****** is going to blow up, then let's blow it up.
So I hauled *** around town for a few minutes and guess what? It cleared everything up!

lmao, crazy ***. Blowing my motor is the LAAAST thing I wanna do. I'd probably contemplate suicide if it happened because of this stupid ****.
I havnt seen any in the mirrors or anything. Of course it was smoking up the entire neighborhood when I used that seafoam. Thats always fun.
Im letting it chill right now and I'll go back out there in the next hour and drive it around.

haha no, I was just askin why u thought it'd be a good idea to wait till tomorrow. Like would it help something dry or what.. I have no idea.
Thats also ona the first things I did.. they look fine to me, maybe a lil white, but it doesnt look like something is majorly wrong with em. My plug wires could really use replacing though.
I have had this surging idle on all my hondas before. When you mess with the throttle, sometimes you hit that idle air thing that connects to the throttle, and it throws it off, dont ask me why, or how, but sometimes when i am tinkering with this I have to play with it a little to get the idle back to normal. This won't help you, but several people have told me that the Gumout Carb & Choke Cleaner is the same stuff as the Gumout Fuel Injection Cleaner. The only difference is that the injection cleaner costs more. Advance Auto Parts said that's the reason they don't carry it, and they just have the carb & choke one. Anyone know if this is true? I hope so, because I already used it to clean the intake manifold and throttle body that I'm putting in.
I had this exact same problem on my friends Del Sol. Used carb cleaner to clean the throttle body and had the surging idle afterwards. Found out that the butterfly seal was bad and causing a vacuum leak. spray some carb cleaner on the throttle linkage and see if the idle goes back to normal. idle surging is caused by vacuum leaks if this helps.

Well my car ran just fine right before I sprayed that carb cleaner in..

You could have broken what was left of the butterfly seal. Personaly I would have just put the seafoam in and drove the hell oeut of the car. Burn off all the deposits you broke loose, and send ALOT of air through the intake manifold
