The stereo works fine, but whenever I try to play a CD it spins for a few seconds and then blinks a P-E0 error. The owners manual states that this is a FOCUS/CLV error and to eject the cd and make sure that it is inserted correctly.

Any thoughts?

 

is it a burned cd casue some of the stalk cd players can't play burned cds.

 

i have tried both burned cd's and purchased cd's. previous to this error it would play burnt cd's too.

 

My guess would be that the laser is somehow misaligned, and you will be picking up a new radio very soon.

If you don't care about MP3 playing capability, you can pick up nice older Alpines (4 or 5 years old) for under $100.

 

that is exactly what i did not want to hear. can i possibly clean the laser so that i do not have to replace the damn thing?

 

get a new deck, you'll pay more to fix that one than what you can get a similar used oem one for.

 

where can i get a used OEM?

 

ebay, thepartstrader.com, classifieds here on h-t, a lot of places... good luck. you don't have to get an accord se player, honda uses universal radio plugs on a lot of its decks (including acura decks). we have a 00 Integra LS cd player in my wife's 90 Civic, and it just plugged and bolted right in.
