Hello,

You do know that they sell CD player cleaners that do the same job you want to do(clean the lense) with out having to take the face off?

The CD player cleaner is somply a special CD that has a small brush under it that cleans the lense. All you do is stick the CD in like a normal CD and you are good to go

I would think a small brush would do the job.

dont stick anything in there that does not belong. The lens is on a very delicate suspension and servo mechanism. It does not take much to mess it up.
Buy the CD cleaning disk/kit and do it right. The $10 is not worth wrecking your player
