Default Just installed B&M EDGE short throw shifter.....have some questions

I just installed the shifter yesterday and it feels great. It allows me to double clutch downshift alot easier. Here are my questions. Are there any ill side affects to a short throw shifter that can seriously damage the car? I did not have a torque wrench at hand. The torque specs were like 16ft/lbs. I snugged the nuts down pretty good ,but did not wrench them on as hard as possible. Should this be ok until I can check them? How do I get my shift **** back on so that the numbers face the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I just torqued mine down as hard as I saw fit. No problems so far.

Didn't your car use the little nut that you screw on before you screw the **** on? Anyways, I just did mine the ghetto way. I took some little pieces of scrap paper, balled them up, and threw 'em inside the ****. You can also use a washer that's sized to screw around the shifter. HTH

I just noticed that my shifter is making a ringing noise. What could this be from? I have heard of other people with this problem. Is it because of the different bushings or what?

The rattling is from the plastic ring that goes around the ball part of the shifter. Putting a huge amount of lithium grease (buy an extra bottle) on everything that has to be lubed will stop the rattling.
