Default Name this Vibration

While my rpms desend between 2,200-2,000 a vibration occurs on my accords undercarriage. I believe this to be something loose with my exhaust, any ideas?
thanks.

I have the same thing at 2400 rpms coming out of the left front side of my car, it has been doing it for 2 years now. I removed the dust shields behind the calipers when doing the AV6 brake upgrade and thought that might be it, nope. I believe that it is just a rock in a heat shield somewhere that will only make a noise at a certain rpm. Funny how harmonics work.

I had this same problem on my 94 accord. A honda tech told me it was my heat sheild. He was wrong. When I replaced my entire exhaust system the vibration went away completely.

There are heat shields all the way back to the muffler.

How was he wrong? Chances are they bent it away from the new exhaust.

Sounds like he was right on.

In my experience it is because just by a poor design of the factory exhaust/head sheilds/flex donut

It didnt affect enough 5th gens for it to be recall or anything, but it affected alot of cars, im not sure exactly what causes it but Honda service departments are aware of it, when I first got my accord in the end of 1999/early 2000 it made that noise, I took it to the dealer (I am lucky in having an awesome honda dealer locally who I ended up working for a year later ) they fixed the rattle with whats called a "buzz kit", i dont know if thats a nickname for it or the actual name, i have no idea, but i know they were very aware of it, knew how to fix it, and it never came back. Ive made this post about this vibration about 30 times since I joined HT for me lol

actually its known as the "1800 rpm buzz", you can buy a buzz kit from honda which consists of new gaskets or some crap like that. its not worth it though, get a catback and the noise will be gone.

There is another problem that the Accords had. The springs for the cat/downpipe bolts were just too weak. I'd get those replaced as well, it should be free.
