u knoe how u have a full tank of gas. and u drive around and next thing u knoe the light goes reminding you that u need to go get gas, well.. if that light shows up.. does that really mess up ur fuel injection? or after a long while? i was just wonderin..

 

no but it will stir up the dirt in your tank more and you will have a durty fuel filter after a while

 

Most in-tank pumps need to be covered with gas to keep them cool. I wonder if this is the reason manufacturers are putting a low fuel ligfht in.

running low on fuel all the time is bad for the pump as they require the gas in the tank to keep them cool. you really do not want to replace the fuel pump on a 5th gen as it is a P.I.T.A

how low is low? 30 miles before ur car actaully stops? i have a 2002 accord v6 and i was told iu can drive ur **** approx. 30 miles before ur car goes dead.. hahaha.. i dunt do that but i was jsut wunderin!!

Yes good quality fuel injector cleaner works well. I get my car's injectors cleaned every few years

Just put gas every time you can, if you let your tank low while in the winter, condensation will build inside your gas tank which isn't good for your car.
Cliff notes: put gas when you have time, period.

 

alot of gas company have those injection system cleaner in their gas already.
I always buy those stp injector cleaner every oil change.
dont worry too much about winter condensation-socal weather is nice
when the low on fuel light come up, you still have about 2gallon of gas in your tank. I always fill up when it reach the half way mark.

 

never wait until your tank is almost empty. all the dirty particles are at the bottom of the tank,and the injectors will get clogged up by this crap. its a good idea to fill up when you have 1/4 tank of gas left, thats the safe zone IMO.
