Default tachometer install.. dash lighting dimmer question?

Okay, well I installed my tach all good, and it works fine, but the indiglo that is supposed to work at night will not work. The instructions say that the black wire with the red stripe connects to the circut between the dimmer control and dash lights and the red wire to the fuse box to something that only recieves 12v. Okay, so i looked at the dimmer and i connected the wires to the actual dimmer wires, the black w/red stripe to the black w/red stripe, and the red wire to the red wire, but it still isnt working?

Now i was wondering, does the CRX HF or Si have dash lighting dimmers that control the ground side of the lighting circut, or the positive side? Thanks!

well, i dont know about the dimmer output, but the easiest thing to do would be to take off the guage cluster cover, and at the very top you will see two wires (white?) going to a rectangular casing, where the lights are located to light up your speedo, etc. tapping these wires would be very simple, and they would automatically be hookup up to the dimmer already. just make sure you check the polarity of them with a voltmeter before hooking them up since they are the same color. hope this helps.

Alright, so they are on the back of the speedo, like top or what? And they go into one of the plugs, do you know which one? And when you say white, is the wire white? Odd. Thanks man!

its not behind the speedo, its at the very "peak" of the cluster, once the cover is removed. and like i said, i believe its two white wires.

you are better off just running the wires (except the tach signal wire) down under the dash under the steering column. to power up the tach use the black/yellow wire. that is ignition power. the parking light wire is actually red/ black not black/red. then you just ground it and hook up the tach signal wire to the blue wire on your tach plug behind your cluster.
