So what do you think of D&D slipons?
I found a deal I couldn't refuse on Ebay... I was going to go with a Vance and Hines Pipe but like I said, I just couldnt pass this up.

How do they sound? I hope they aren't too loud...

had a frined test all the slip ons with a dyno, and D&D had 5hp over the next highest one. ill tell you thi, i sold my old yosh rs3 carbon one on my full exhaust and put the D&D slip on one on. i noticed a power difference in the midrange.
D&D's are very loud and deep. Fit, finish and quality are par. Well as far as midrange that's most slipon's. That's why most street bikes would benefit from a slip on over full exhaust. Mostly mid-range power. Most full exhaust dyno's don't start making power till like 7K+ the it just climbs and climbs. Re-jetting is not necessary, but wouldn't hurt. Bikes run lean from the factory. If you are just getting a K&N stock filter, don't waste your money. If you are gonna get clamp-ons cool, but they are not necessary IMO for a street bike. You want the D&D for looks and sound? Go for it. If not, specify your goal.

Well, I figured since I still have the original filter that probably needs replacement, I should go with a K&N which are reusable and more cost-effective than going OEM.
I was looking for a Slipon for:
1. To replace the stock muffler which my buddy scraped up when he lowsided my bike
2: To keep the EXUP system, which benifits the midrange. I am all about midrange.
The reason I went with the D&D was the low cost they were selling them for. If it were selling for the list price, I would of gone for something else. But I will live with the noise, no biggie. My goals for power improvement are not that high. I am happy with the bike the way it is.

As stated before D&D is VERY load and raspy. IMO it sounds like ****. They do make good power though. Dave the owner is one crazy SOB.
The full D&D race pipe I had was loud as ****. I had it on a 500twin and it was louder than a full yoshi system on a gixxer1k. It also ran lean as **** around 8k. Btw, if you ever get a chance to get to the track take a note of who uses K&N air filters...
I have not heard to many good things about K &N filters and bikes. Stick with stock filters or maybe BMC.
D&D pipes are also not too popular around my area. They are loud. A good pipe for the money is Hindle. If cost is no object, then Ackropovick (SP???) is supposed to be one of the best for power and quality, but $$$$$.

I had the K&N pod filters on my old Bandit 1200 and never had a problem.

I dont know if you read the whole post, the reason I got the D&D was because of the attractive price, other wise I was going to polish up the scrape marks on the stock can and cal it a day.
