Default 355 WHP at 13,000 RPM with a B series block,N/A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Poop!

Step aside Mugen,Spoon,Toda, and Jun here comes ENDYN.
It seems Larry is working on something big, well Endyn built and fabricated this engine and I will tell you what little I know about it.
some details I read about:

355 whp at 13,000 RPM- thats 411.8 hp at the flywheel and 197hp/L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
B20 block
2.08 liters
modified type R crank
no VTEC
ring package is within .100" of the piston top

thats all I know for now I also have a picture of the piston-just dont know how to post it, but it looks pretty radical. Ultra light weight, it almost looks like a Formula 1 piston.

If you think this is a powerful engine ENDYN is building a 2.25 ltr. engine.

ENDYN has taken JDM one step further!!! Finally a domestic manufacturer that outshines all from Japan! I knew ENDYN was bound for success when I first learned the horsepower figures they were getting out of D16z plants
without Turbo's or NOS. That NASCAR backround Larry has will be revolutionary in the Honda high-performance world.

im sure it is very possible but what i would liekto know is how often you have to rebuild an engine that revs to 13k? well atleast the valvetrain.

is it just a drag racing engine? or will it withstand circuit racing?

don't mean to be picky or anything, especially since Endyn has done a good job, but to compare Endyn with the Japanese tuners is is really apples and oranges.

I say that because they tune for completely different purposes and under different constraints.

Most B series tuners in Japan tune for circuit racing in Group N Endurance or specific class racing. In these series, there are strict limits on the modifications that can be done to the engine. For example, Spoon's DC2 race car must conform to FIA Group N regulations. They don't allow mixing and matching blocks, heads, etc.

As for Toda/Mugen, they do build motors for Japanese F3, which again is completely different requirements.

Well, seeing as how the Top Fuel Dragsters/Funny Cars make about 800 Hp per cylinder - I would say they have a ways to go.

Well, those Japanese circuit engines last up to 12 hours at near redline. How long will this motor last? and has anyone actually seen this thing or is it just like their mythical supercharger that I used to hear about 5 years ago that never came into production.

Yeah, and they are 10liter motors too; run on methanol, and have bloody great blowers on them.

Realistically, it is not so hard to comprehend:

the B18C5 piston speeds are approaching (similar to) F1 engines. A 3 liter F1 engine produces 800 odd hp at around 17 or 18 000rpm, so why is it so hard to believe that someone has developed a 4 banger that spins to 13 000rpm and produces around half of what a F1 motor does with only 2/3rds the displacement?

Completely plausable; especially if those who are building it have some idea of what they are doing.

Big phat R. What do top fuel 600+ CID Keith Black HEMI's with 14-71 GMC blowers making 4 digit hp figures have to do with my comment above? NOTHING!!! All I said is that ENDYN's NASCAR background is obviously helping them unlock tons of potential from B series motors. WTF does Top Fuel drag racing have to do with any of this!?

Please do not quote my posts, this is getting gay as hell!

I would just like to know where the **** Top Fuel drag racing correlates to the post?

Since when did NASCAR motors spin to 13K?

Sheesh settle down and have a Midol. I wasn't criticizing you in any way. My point is that what Endyn is doing is not that impressive given what others are doing in todays world - I used the Top Fuel Dragster allegory as an example of what you can get out of a motor if you run it for a few seconds with every bit of technology that you can throw into it. Some of the top NA dragsters are getting similar hp/L outputs but their engines have to last a total of 10 to 12 seconds - big deal. You are the one out of line. Take it as you will - see if I care. (p.s. I don't)

HOW COME LARRY ALWAYS PREACHES ABOUT RPM= RUINS PEOPLES MOTORS, AND NOW HE BUILDS AN ENGINE THAT GOES TO 13K????
RPMs do ruin people's motors. That is why this engine will have to be rebuilt every 5 miles or so. This was designed to be a Drag Strip ONLY motor. It was not meant to be streetable in any sense of the word.

Also, how much power are the top NA Honda motors doing right now?

I just want to see it pull some times if it is so damn cool bring it on. Oh and on another note anyone know of a B series Transmission that can handle those rpm's and not disintegrate. I have had no experiance wih endyne so in my opinion show me the proof and I will respect you. and on yet another note I have like a ten page printout on the supercharged Type-R from like 3 years ago it gather's dust and i find it funny that they have not even updated that site.

My motor spins to 10 000rpm.

Doing a bit more to get it to 13k would not be so hard as it would be expensive.

I have not seen Endyn's stuff, all I am saying is that it is COMPLETELY plausable.

As far as 73rd is concerned...

Needless banter about what someone may or may not be doing is pointless. In actuality, it makes you look not so good.

I have seen some of endyn's work, I was amazed at the quality of work. The attention to detail is unbeatable. I have talked to laryy before and he knows how and why things work not just how to produce power. What people don't realize is larry is trying to make our sport, import racing, the new way to hot rod. The motor in question is not intended to be for just anyone. It is being built for race use only, and just like anytrue race motor it will only see a few passes.
