From: Irish...Looking forward to St. Paddies Day.
Is it true that when you use a 1991 B18A1 motor with a 1994 GSR head that you have to get a v-tec oil pump and a oil line to go from the area around your oil filter to the head? If so could anyone tell me what model v-tec cars have the right oil pump as well where I can get the oil line kit. Thanks in advance for the help.
You have to match the timing belt to whatever oil pump you are going to run. If you use a vtec oil pump you need to use a vtec timing belt or if you use the LS oil pump you need to use the LS timing belt if I am not mistaken. I think that either a GSR or Type R will work. I've heard you can't use a b16 timing belt because it's too short.
As for the oil line kit: http://www.inlinefour.com/lsvtecharkit.html
has it.

Nothing like padding your post count at the expense of somone who might have just pushed the wrong key: <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Just Checking In »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">its vtec. get it right.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Why don't you add something informative to the post?

close but not quite....
oil pumps have nothing to do with the timing belt. its the water pump you need to worry about.
LS water pump (19 teeth)= LS timing belt
B16/GSR/ITR water pump (22 teeth)= GSR/ITR timing belt
if you do run an LS water pump with a GSR/ITR timing belt, it will be VERY VERY loose, cause bad ignition timing, and can possibly skip teeth.
if you try to run a B16/GSR/ITR water pump with an LS timing belt, be prepared to find your receipt for the t-belt as you will need to take it back. it wont fit.
people only talk about using Vtec oil pumps because they flow a little more oil than the non-Vtec parts.
as for the oil line, check out Http://www.c-speedracing.com
for the directions. then check out

for the parts you'll need.
making the braided oil line is easy.
