S2k for Sale, Black/Black in excellent condition asking $23.5k
I have a stock Black S2000 with 36k miles for sale. I had it evaluated at CarMax and they gave it an excellent rating. Its in great shape. I spent almost a year looking into it. Basically it would have to be completely custom and would basically ruin the interior. I would lose so much value in the car and the cost would have been $1.5k to $2k, plus I was not very fond of the looks when I would be off the track. I wish I could afford to have an S2000 just for the track but that's not the case....yet
. There is no room in the interior so I would basically have to rip out all the stock hoops and roof well. I have seen some people do it but it still would not pass SCCA specs. They are VERY strict. So I am selling it for a fixed roof vehicle. Again, its killing me to sell it especially now that the weather is warming up. I wish I could have both.

Unfortunately it does not qualify. The S2k’s hardtop is not attached to the frame nor reinforced; it would just shatter on impact. I asked about it, but no go...

The one at s2ki is not SCCA approved and neither is the Mugen Street Bar. The Mugen Racing bar looks like it meets the SCCA specs but for both Mugen bars you have to drill holes in the dash and rip out a lot of stuff. I just don't want to permenantly damage the car so much.
Thanks for your responses,

Yeah the one in Raleigh, NC gave me a trade-in price and hence it reflected the KBB rating of excellent. They said most trades are actually below KBB trade-in value unless the car is in "excellent" condition. Thanks for your inquiry.

Well I would love for you to own it. I have come across several people in this situation where they would buy the s2k no questions asked because they realize its such a great deal but they would have to get rid of their car first. Well good luck to you selling your car.
The s2k seems to be getting more and more interest so I don't expect to have it much longer.
If you come across a great deal on a car you really want, you can go ahead and buy it, and usually you have a month and a half before your first payment is due on a the new car and even one month of double payments wouldn't be that bad. You get your money back when you sell the car. The only thing you lose is interest. It also eliminates putting miles on your old car and allows you to leave it places for exposure. So a month of two payments gives you two and a half months to sell your car. Just a thought.
Thanks for you interest,
