Give me a good reason NOT to buy this wheel for Autox

I disagree. Get the widest wheel that will fit the widest tire that will fit your car.

it depends what class u want to run in. i dont know if the is3 came with 17's, but if so those must be the same width as stockers to run them in stock. otherwise (as someone said) run the enki for street and stockers w/ R's for autox. if u want to run STX, then run the widest they allow (7 or 7.5)

Pretty wheels don't make ya fast.
I agree with Dan.

I said to get wide width!! you don't need a big diameter to get wide width though, hell I know some cars run 15x9. Wide good, big diameter bad

They look pretty good to me. IS300's come with 7" tires? Sweet. Since they're the same diameter and width as your stock wheels, I'd recommend weighing both of them so you know you're running the lightest for autox.

You missed my point. You said get the widest wheels you can fit. Well, I dont agree. Let me give you an example: Say your car can fit 7 inch wide rims along with 225 series tires without rubbing. I would suggest getting 6.5 inch rims that will still fit 225 series tires because you save on rim weight but mainting tire width.

that really depends on what kind of tires you're running. hoosiers don't seem to mind being shoehorned onto a narrow rim. but almost any street tire will perform better on a wider rim.

I don't agree w/ you... Wider wheel is worth the extra .5lb Speads out the tire more, more even wear pattern...

although, I think I can get away with 17x7.5 in the rear because it is stock for the IS300 SportCross wagon.

Nope. You can't run 17x7.5 because it is not an option on the 4-door.

not if it is a "dealer installed" option, which I believe it is.

Well, if it was an option from the factory (not the dealer), then that would be ok. However, if the 16's required heated seats and the purple velvet interior, then you can't run 16's unless you have the heated seats and purple velvet interior.
Are you sure the optional wheels were 16x7? I would have sworn they were 16x6.5.
Just get those 17x7's. They're really cheap (can't beat $100/wheel!). They're not the lightest wheels out there, but in that price range, you can't be that picky. At 20 lb, I'll bet they're still a little lighter than those OEM bricks. Damn, those things were heavy!
