Why all these problems??? FVCK!!! 370cc inj. problems. answers needed..
OK. it seems everythig I put on my R is turning to crap. Installed the rc injectors. Then the idle was rough as hell and stalled on stock fuel pressure. Lowered the pressure to 30 psi and ran better, but was stu, stu, studering. Plus the smell out of the exhaust was so bad that my throat hurts. The plugs were black from carbon. I was getting eratic idle also. Changed to stock and now its fine.. WTF???
Someone who is running rc injectors care to help me on this one?? I thought I was ok running those with the stock ecu. Thanks

370cc injectors are way too big to run on a stock ECU. Even if you turn down the fuel pressure they are still too big.
You need to decrease the injector pulse width (which you can't do with a stock ECU) not decrease the fuel pressure.
What kind of mods do you have that you need 370cc injectors? 200 Hp is obtainable with stock ITR injectors.

The stock ecu should be able to keep up with the 370's. Bosch pump, fuel rail, cam gears, nitrous. is what im needing the bigger injectors for..
I need more fuel..
Wondering if my R's ecu cant handle the 370's..
eratic pulse/width causing bad exhaust smells??

Apparently the stock ECU can't keep up with the 370cc injectors. If it could, you would have a stock idle, nice golden brown plugs, and a normal smelling exhaust.
If you think the 370cc injectors are fine keep on using them. From my experience OEM DOHC VTEC B-series Honda ECUs aren't too crazy about any injectors larger than about 300cc.
I am assuming that you are doing a dry shot. Is this correct?
If so, I would switch to a wet direct port setup. That way you can keep your stock injectors and have the fuel enriched via the NOS system.

I agree, Kenji. The bigger injectors suck, especially on a N/A Honda engine. Switching back to stock from 310cc injectors felt way better on the B18C5.
BTW, a new breed of mullet has emerged. Chris picked me up at my house yesterday and we were heading down Davis Blvd. toward his house. So I see the typical black Monte Carlo, like a 1984 or 85, black primered, probably has Hooker Header and 3" exhaust, he has a big Dale Earnardt sticker on the back window. Pull up, sure enough, he has the typical child molestor moustache, toothpick in his mouth and a shiny new pair of Oakley Razorblades on. He turns the back of his head to us, as if he was trying to flare us on by waving his mullet. This thing was LONG. I mean, he put some TIME AND EFFORT into this thing.
So since he was riding a Monte Carlo, I think it's fair to call him "The Full Monty Mullet".

Thanks guys. Im not even gonna deal with these injectors, or the ECU. I got the 370's at a great deal, that's why I got them. Ill sell them and try out the 310cc ones.. If all else, keep the stock ones on.
The R hardly ever sees pavement. So the nitrous is when im feeling down and need a fix.. hehehe..
It will not see alot of nitrous, so a dry shot would be sufficient for my needs. I was going for more fuel to be safer.
That story is frickin funny. My girl busted me on a pic of me with a mullet hair cut back in 87.hehehe
I had no idea....
Toothpic and all huh???

Why do you need so much more fuel?
It's no wonder the stock timing and fuel maps cannot keep up.

side note: just had my stock injectors cleaned & balenced by RC, and the numbers were around 248-250 (after cleaning etc.).
btw -- good thing too, because the # 1 inj. was only registering 180 before (with the others around 240).

i successfully ran 450s on my stock ecu. was a little rich.
but it was able to hold idle and drive normally with nominal gas mileage.
was back on 310s at 80psi with skunk2 chip with a little lean problem
in high rpm. need 370s but i think i'm gonna go back to 450s with
a little help on the computer side.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned a VAFC or the SAFC in this. Can't he use that to lean/richen the A/F mixture where needed? I know that I was able to tune my idle with it. Although I am running a stock fuel system.

those things dont control injector pulsewidth directly so they are almost
useless. they can only lean so much and they can barely richen any if
at all. Sure it works for idle, but it wont do much for incredibly large injectors

Screw all this injector ****. Now im just wondering how long till my stockers take a crap with the high flow pump.
Who wants the 370's????
Why do I need all that fuel??? Dunno, just like spending money I guess..
I should learn more about fuel management if Im gonna fvck with it. Since other Integras owners I know run with 370cc injectors with stock ecu, I figured it couldnt hurt. There's that spending money thing again..
I agree with sgt, on the V-AFC not being able to control injector pulse/width directly.

Sorry to hear about your problems. If you're still looking to sell your 370's in a few weeks, I may be interested.
