A friend of mine got a SiR (Si in the States) several months ago and decided to get a kit (lips & skirts) for his car. He didn't want any replica fibreglass stuff and since Honda had to give N.A. different bumpers from the JDM CTR, my friend couldnt get the JDM CTR kit... and then he saw a SiR at the autoshow w/ the factory kit so he decided to wait for that...

anyways, he called the dealer yesterday to ask about the kit and the parts department told him that it will be coming in August...along with the CTR...

Im not 100% sure, but from what my friend got from the dealer, it'll still retain the N.A. 4lug w/ the JDM CTR "look-alike" wheels in 16"... and will house a K20A2 motor in it...

 

The dealers are the last to know anything, so i doubt this information is reliable.

 

sounds like a factory performance package.

 

If I see one more of these CTR posts, I'm gonna puke.

The next CTR post had better be some kind of official Honda documentation showing the car will make it to NA, otherwise everything is still rumor and speculation at this point.

If there were a mod in this forum, they'd probably lock this post.

 

Im not too sure myself, it was the parts department that told my friend and apparent the guy who talked w/ my friend also got a SiR so he wasn't too happy when he got the news... at least it wasn't a sale person who told him which immediately should be considered BS already lol

but I guess if the N.A. CTR only has a change in motor, rims (still 4-lug) and an addition of the body kit w/o the JDM goodies such as typeR brakes, LSD, recaro's, etc. then it might be true to bump up the EP3 sales... just my 2 cents...

 

In many cases, we probably know just as much, if not more than the dealers.

This guy called me a "complete moron" and told me that the RSX would have an all-new V6 IVTEC (before it was out), because an acura salesman had told him that it was "confirmed" from Honda. This was well after we knew of the K20A2. He also bet me a thousand dollars, and never paid..

in before the lock! i also wonder if theyre gonna do 4x114 for the ctr if it does come to NA. cuz i dont see why they would do a 4x100 with the typeR. that wouldnt make alot of sense to me. the type R is somewhat a "built Racecar", and if you want better stopping power and maybe better accelleration u besta go 5 lug. wouldnt make sence to me to use 4x100

Yeah, right CTR in N.A. My dealer told me that it would be stupid for me to drop a Type-S engine in my Si because all I needed to do was put on an intake and exhaust and it would make up for the 40 hp...shows how much dealers know

 

One guy at the dealer thought some EK in the lot was an Si and also said it was going to cost around 20g's. It had a 99-00 Si cluster and he though it was a freakin Si. I left right then and there. Dealer guy's duno ****.

 

The HONDA Dealerships here say it's coming too... and suppossedly in like Motortrend they are saying the same thing... or so I heard

 

it is probably the FP package
those "CTR" lookalike rims are actually 16" in 4 bolt form made by Enkei

they do need to boost their EP sales, and i think making the FP package as an option may help

i know that a FP package with the civic FP wheels etc is due out this year, no word on a CTR tho
