Hey guys waddup! I just got my 88 Civic HB
Hey hows it going my names Ken and I just got a 88 civic HB and im ready to go nuts. This will be my first honda I am really excited. The reason I bought this car was to convert it to a 200hp electric motor civic. The pros of this conversion is peak torque at 0 rpm is what electric motors put out. The big con of this conversion is the 20 batterys I have to haul around. Becuase of this the first thing I will be needing is to take out the back seats and make the whole back/mid a place for batteries (1 layer) then I will upgrading shocks and springs to support the almost 1000lbs extra load. I just hope the civic will be able to support this! I want this car to be nice so I will be purchasing body kits, and interior/exterior modifications along the way as well! I will post pictures of my car tommorow when its sunny. Its a nice clean ride I cant wait to get it all nice and rice (jk jk) I am also going to be painting it Black Mica just like my daily driver 2003 Mazdaspeed protege I own. This new electric car will be my new daily driver for the short comute and the msp will be weekend cruiser. I hope to learn alot and share alot along the way so untill next post =D later!
this is by far one of the stupidist ideas in a long time. why would you take a great car and turn into an electric car with 200hp? get the f@#ck outta here. you're better off driving the mazda peed everyday and fixin up the honda for the weekends
Why because 88 Civics are a dime a dozen.
Whole9 you should consider converting the car the RWD if you're going this far. throw some of the batteries in the rear but throw the majority of them under the hood. Balance the weight so you can have some traction with all that torque at 0 rpms.
