I have a built b16 in my 89 crx that when it starts it is rough until you rev to like 3000 rpm and the check engine light comes on then it is fine. it does not seem that important but i am turbo charging it and i dont want to run into future poblems with it. Also when i drive the rpms are from 700-1000 rpm higher than what they normally are in my 99 si. like in 5th gear at 60 mph the rpms are at like 4000 rpm. is this normal or is there something really wrong here?
First check the code, as for the rpms thats correct. The transmission has shorter gears than your old Si one. Much better for accel though.
Pull back the passenger side carpet by the feet area, and take the ecu cover off. Then when the check engine light comes on, the ecu will flash. Count the flashes and then tell us how many times it flashes.
I'm assuming you are using a OE ecu. You can check the code by looking at the flashing red led on top of the ecu and count the number of flashes. A long flash is 10, so 2 long flashes would be 20 and so on. Short flashes are just counted 1,2,3,4 etc. I.E.~2 long flashes followed immediately by 3 short flashes would be a code 23. Find out the code, then you can determine what your problem is.

Probably different type of gearing in the trans, and about your turbo and check engine light, I would defiantly fix that check engine light before you turbo it.
