Stock '00 ITR baseline dyno plot
I wanted to get a baseline dyno plot of my car before I started modifying it. I figured I'd scan & post it b/c it might come in handy to someone sometime.
Also, thanks to the friendly and knowledgable staff at Rosen Autosport (www.rosenautosport.com) in Richmond, VA ... I wonder if I can get my Jeep up onto their dyno.... hmmmm

Very interesting.
While I was there I saw another plot that was ~155hp stock, and one w/ "Header, Axle-back Exhuast, VTEC Controller, Comptech Air Filter cut off VTEC Controller" make 158.5hp and 117.7tq -- both at around 88 degrees Farenheit.
hrmm.

break in... I bought it w/ 1,350 miles on it and have always prayed that it was broken in properly. The story the dealer gave me was that it was bought and sold back to the dealership a month later when the owner got transferred to NYC.
There is a kid here that made 142 at the wheels. This was the same day that another friend with an ITR made 176 with just an intake within a few hours of each other. The guy is now supposedly going to get his car looked at by a rep from the dealer. He said the car had 60 miles on it when he bought it
I am interested in seeing what happens to his car.

Well, I had my first dyno run last week, and mine was all messed up, numbers all over the place. I did a couple of runs of 155HP and 154HP, but that's still 7-10HP lower for a bone stock R. I'll do a second run soon, and if the numbers are bad again, I am going to the dealership.

Jus' kidding... I've seen dyno problems lately myself. I was hoping to improve nicely over my bolt-on plot (177whp) with the Toda B's, but the best I got on the last dyno run was 172. There was a problem with the dyno, as a I/E Toda H R only put down 152 on the first run. Argh. Hope to get a good plot soon.
I think their dyno is a little low, I was there last friday dyno'd 156 and 118 yeah take for granted it was hot. The funny thing is this weekend i put my car on another dyno, this time 166ish , and 120 . but what throws me off is a friend was at the same dyno last week. he put down 170 and 121. We both run our cars at the drag strip. Me 14.1 him 14.3 im at about 98.6 him im not sure, but our 60's are about the same . I not the worse driver, but for me to run a 14.1 back to back, and only have 156? umm, sounds a little fishy to me... o well

well, what does this all say???
it says that the dyno is a good tool to 'tune' your car, but for power estimates it seems to vary quite a bit!
everyone says your numbers are low.....well i have a CDN R and it's just as low on a dyno totally different and on the west coast!
if you do 3rd and 4th gear runs, you'll vary between 5-7%, everyone says standard is 4th gear......what if you have JDM FD? or cross gears?
what is accurate and what isnt? no one seems to know the answer.......

What kind of dyno was it? Mustang dynos read low, both my and D's ITRs dyoned in the 155 neighborhood on a mustang dyno, and an ITR that was putting down nearly 180 on a dynojet was in the 150s on the same mustang dyno. You can't compare the results of one dyno with another.
98.8 degrees. that'd play a big role.
I have no idea why the OBDII cars would dyno with less horsepower but still evidently run quicker than the OBDI cars. It doesn't make sense, but it seems to be true.
Thanks,
