New to bikes... couple of questions
As it says, I am new to bikes and have a couple of questions. I'm considering getting a bike in the next couple of months and wanted to know what kind of monthly and down payments you guys are making. Also, approximately what kind of insurance payments would I be making? 22 year old male, fairly good driving record. Thanks a lot.
First off dont worry about the monthly payments, DO NOT ASK the dealer for a bike that would fit a monthly payment they will rape you in the end. worry about what you can afford!!! Check out the consumers reports on car buyingMArch 2003, allot holds true to buying a motorcycle.
First off have you ever riden before, if not dont buy new. even if you have riden dont buy new, you can find plenty of used bikes that are 1,2,3 years old and cost allot less then a new bike. and more fun to ride in my opinion
Financing is a pain. My friend just bought a 2002 Cbr 954rr for $8200, he has good credit(not excellent) and all in all he will pay close to $17000 for the bike when all is said and done.
Finance companies do not look at bikes the same way as cars, bikes are toys(unfortunately) cars are means of transportation.
You being from Texas you have plenty of resources to find a good quality used bike, but before you buy a mechanic will save you a headache in the end.
Be safe Riden and hope to see you at bike week.
