Ok here's the info on the Jackson
Jackson Racing Super Charger for the 94-2000 GSR
Modified By Edina
Polished, ported Intake manifold,
Polished and ported intake neck for the super charger

comes with everything you need and included is the 10-12 pulley kit

Dilemma: US Spec or J-Spec?
I know that the JDM GSR engine has a higher compression ratio-- which is going to be bad if I run the 10-12 lb pulley on the JRSC-- would it be better for me to buy the US-Spec engine? Although, I know it's a lot easier to find a low mileage J-Spec, than a low mileage US-Spec. It has also been suggested to me that I look for a high mileage US-Spec GSR swap and rebuild it for FI. The only problem with that plan is that I am having a hard time finding any high mileage US-spec engines for less than I could get a J-Spec for (which only has 30K miles on it). So, what would you guys recommend?

I know it's a lot to think about- but any help you guys can give me will be appreciated. This is going to be my first swap, and my first FI engine. So I'm gonna need you guys a lot along the way. Thanks a lot guys.

well if im not mistaken the jdm ba8c1 is only like 10.4:1-10.6:1, and although im not sure if that high of compression would be safe for 10 psi, i know of some people with a USDM b18c5's that are runnign 10 psi (tuned of course), and the USDM b18c5 has 10.6:1 compression........ so if a B18C5 can run that kind of boost im sure its possible for a Jspec B18c1 that has similar (or less) compression.

Thanks man. Other than screwin' around w/ the engine management, what things can I do to make the car safer for FI-- I know crower or eagle pistons and rods will better handle the boost, but is there anything I can do to lower the compression ratio-- this car will be driven daily-- I want it to be as reliable as possible. What would be the best "bang" for my buck?Thanks a lot for all your help.

The compression is OK, I run as close to 10-1 as possible , Also Eagle rods are good insurance.
The key is tunning , We have done lots of work with supercharging, check my sig.

Honestly I would buy the engine with the lower miles. I ran my 98 GSR with that setup and never had a problem. As long as you run the BTM or water injection you should be fine.

damn... what was ur hp on the b20vtec before u put on the jrsc, and what was the rest of ur setup with jrsc? (before u put on that intercooler?)


btw.. how much does ur intercooler cost? and how long would it take to have done?

Before the intercooler I made 264WHP at 9 lbs , With the intercooler the boost dropped to 8 and my last run was 286WHP with a full exhaust. E-mail me for details on the intercooler.
