Default crower 62404 LS cams + turbo

Is this possible? I was going to use cam gears to try to dial out as much overlap as possible. Has anyone tried this yet? I called Crowers tech support and they said it is not possible. But the thing that makes me think it is possible, is that my cams have almost the same stats as STOCK GSR cams...and they run boost fine. That is sad that the 2nd most aggressive cams available have almost the same stats as stock GSR cams. But anyways, anyone, is it possible? I did a search and found a few things, but I wanted to post a recent thread to see if anything has changed since then...

Thanks,
Shaun Ladd

The 404's actually have slightly higher profile than the ITR VTEC profile of the cams.

No, you can only dial so much with the cam gears. You will be better off getting the 402's which are meant for turbo.

its' not about the actual size of the lobe that is making it impossible.

your missing the whole point of the advantages of a v-tec system.. that is two seperate lobes.. the big lobes kick in at high rpm..

not if you running that big lobe the whole time like a 404. and you try to turbo it is totally different than turboing a vtec with aggresive cams because.. with the 404's the problem is that you won't be able to idle right and your low end range will be crazy.

the 62402t will have enough lift you need for turbo. The 62404 has a lot of duration which is a bad thing for turbo. You do not want your exhaust valves open while your intake one is pumping in air. thats what the 62404 does to your turbo car and you can't build pressure. High lift cams with low duration is good power with good idel.
