head gasket, valve seals??? help
my 94 accord has been put up for the winter and i started it evrey once in a while. it has always had a little more white smoke when u first start up than i thought was normal but everyone always told me that it didnt appear to be serious. anyways. when i started it up yesterday, i did get white smoke pretty heavy for about 10 mintues and then it got pretty clear. i also noticed what appeared to be a thin oil like liquid at the exhaust end. someone told me that this was carbon build up from sitting so long and condensation. what do u guys think. i drove it and there was no obvious loss of power. should i do compression or leak down test? the motor is f22 vtec with about 40,000 miles on it. i did run like a 50 shot of nitrous a few times but nothing serious
it is probably because it has been sitting for a while.
the 50 shot shouldnt have hurt it at all, hell the motor probably loved it.
mine always has black soot in the muffler, of course, mine runs a little rich, tho.
does it still blow smoke a lot now, or not?

hmmm...do a comp. and L.D. test and change the oil. when you change the oil look for coolant in it. and also wouldnt hurt to drain and change the coolant, when you do that look for oil in it.
this really sounds like some bad "blow-by", and a lot of that junk is getting drawn back into the intake manifold by the PCV sys. then when you start it again it goes to the cylinders and is getting burnt.
possibly a piston ring. i dont think the n2o would do that though, not just a 50-shot (provided your car was well maintained before).

piston rings f*cked or a head gasket or a warped/bent/broken valve.
but then again it may be something simple. do a comp. test, it'll tell you.

Smell the smoke and if it smells like antifreeze then it is probably your headgasket but if it does not smell like antifreze then it is probably just oil and you should do what everyone else has suggested. I do not think that it is your valve stem seals because the smoke stops. If it were your valve seals then it would not stop it would keep going and it would get worse as revs increased. Just my $.02

i think it is a case of hard valve seals i would change them and go from there they are relativily cheap but will cost you about 3 hours labor at a shop to do it ....
Does anyone know where i can buy valve seals, piston rings, head gasket, ect except for the honda dealership. It doesnt matter if i get new oem parts or aftermarket ones, just trying to stay away from that steep honda dealership price
check it out here:

search there for you car and parts. not bad prices.
or you might be able to get them at AutoZone or Napa stores.
