Axle stuck in intermediate shaft!!!
I have a Axle stuck in the Intermediate shaft of my LS motor and I have tried everything to get it off? Can anyone help me and let me know will an automatic intermediate shaft work on a manual transmission if i need to replace and how much do you think i will have to pay for it?
Pry harder to get it unstuck.
An auto. int. shaft will not work with a manual transmission. The mounting (the cast iron part with the 3 holes in it) is thicker on the auto. because the centerline of the auto. diff is further from the centerline of the crank.
If you have access to a machine shop, or have a mill, the mounting surface can be machined to 5-speed spec. Sorry, I don't remember how much material to remove.

TJ is right the auto intermediate shaft will not work, go to Hasports Tech page to see why. You could try finding one online, or just go to acura and order a new one, hopefully you have a hook-up at acura mine was around $150.00 I can't remember exactly since it was 3 years ago. also if your tranny is a Y-1 you will want to replace the int shaft , even if it was a manual, cuz the Y-1 int. shaft is too long. but really most of this tech stuff is at Hasports site. I almost forgot about your axle being stuck, chances are the retainer clip is deformed in the int shaft and won't let you pull it out. try twisting the axle and pulling aggresively at the same time, basically there is nothing in there that should damage the tranny, but make sure after you get the axle out you find that clip toss it in the garbage and get a new one
