Was looking at a guys 97 base prelude at school today for a frontend noise. After putting it on the lift and driving it could feel a weird wobble. Called the instructor over to look while I drove it on the lift he found that both the halfshaft and axle were bad. Just want to double check if it matters if the car is auto or manual for either. He did order a new half shaft the was marked manual transmission but want to double tap if the axle itself the connects to the half shaft maters on what the transmission is so he doesn't get the wrong one. Thanks for any advice given.

Yes, it does matter for both the cv axle and the half shaft.
