Been throwing code 23 (Knock Sensor), ever since my lsvtec swap. Steps done...1. I connected the knock sensor wire and grounded it to the block (no luck). 2. Tie wrapped the knock sensor away from heat (block) and onto some wire loom and grounded to the car (no luck). 3. Connected the knock sensor directly to the ECU, under the carpet (PR3) (no luck). 4. threaded the block and installed the knock sensor (no luck)...I'm getting tired of this yellow light staring at me, can someone please help? I did a search but still (no luck), hehe...
The knock sensor needs to be wired to the ECU at the proper pinout with shielded wire. The shielded wire is important because the bare stranded wire is the grounded and it "shields" out any electrical interference's.

thanks for your reply but that's exactly what I did...Used the stock wires (came w/harness) and mounted the knock sensor to the block...so dont really know why when the motor heats up, check engine light comes on (code 23)...Maybe what I'll do is run a new shielded wire from the knock sensor all the way to the ecu...There must be a short somewhere or stripped insulation that's causing interference...
i'll also join this club...same thing since my swap, its really discouraging, let me know how that ecu thing goes, i've got to do something about it before i go nuts

You know what's funny...I originally hooked up the knock sensor and just taped it to the wireloom and connected a ground wire...no codes for a long time (couple of months) until I had the head resurfaced...dismantled the motor and after I reattached the sensor...now I'm getting code 23. I even replaced the sensor thinking it was bad.
