NuImage LS swap...Yea or Nay?
I am going to be swapping my D16Z6 for a B18a1 motor and went to my local import shop to see how much it would cost to complete the motor and install it. The B18 is missing tranny, inhectors, and distrubitor. InlineHonda(who some might know) wanted 1k for the labor of the LS install. I figured after the parts I need and labor....HELL of alot of $. They want 10k to purchase and install a t3/t4 turbo setup. I went over to NuImage to see what they could do. Here's what I got:
GSR/LS/B16 tranny NEW___________________$800
ClutchMasters lightened freewheel__________ $335
CM Stage 4 clutch________________________$525.30
Quaife LSD______________________________$800
Shift linkage_____________________________$60
B18A1 motor mounts______________________$300
ECU (trade mine for reprogrammed one)_______$FREE
Labor:
Install of motor, tranny, freewheel, LSD, clutch, mounts and linkage_________________________________$850
It all comes to a total of about _______________~$3800
Is that good? I'm thinking I can save some cash by buying my own LSD, mounts, clutch and freewheel. Any suggestions and what and where?
Thanks!
Spike
BTW, NuImage would purchase a Rev Hard Stage 2 kit, install, and dyno the above setup for a GRAND TOTAL of________________$8k. That includes the purchase/install of the above stuff + a Rev Hard Stage 3 turbo kit +Apexi intercooler+BOV etc........ Sound reasonable?
