Tokico's, Stock suspension, Koni can ALL rust. They are ALL made of a mild steel. I believe galvonzed steel. The TEIN's have a green coat of paint on the outside that in my opinion will never rust in ANY Texas condition. Maybe if you are from the north, it might be a different story.

A close friend of mine has the TEIN SS (I think the SS) and he really likes them. He upgraded from Skunk2 coils on Tokico blues. He says the TEIN ride is a lot more comfortable then the skunks.
I can't say first hand though because this friend is in HI and I moved before he upgraded.

I don't own either, but I have done a lot of reading on the Tein Suspension Products. I am assuming that you are talking about the Tein SS, and I think they are good. I see that you are from California so I would not worry about rusting it is only something to worry about if you have harsh winters. If you are planing to do a lot of track events I would get something a little bit better in the Tein product line such as Tein Flex. I have also heard a lot of good things about the GC and koni set up too! I personally would go with the Tein's. I guess in the end it comes down to how much money you have and what your goals are. Hope that helps

i've had my tein HA for over a year now and it hasn't rusted or anything. (i checked them out last weekend). i wouldn't worry to much about them rusting out on you, or you can just spray WD40 on them if you worried about rust.

What do you mean spray the entire shock or just spray the adjustment collars and the sleeve? I would like to know this b/c I have an opportunity to get some used HA'a at a good price from a friend.

Migs, how do you like your Tein type flex setup?

I run the Tein SS as well. No problems and am very happy so far with them.

We just had a bad winter. What did you do to care for the shocks? Did you water them down and WD40 (or spray antisieze) them down occasionally?

Frosty who would have a heart attack if he saw rust on his expensive coilovers

Can't you like put covers on the shocks so no water gets inside or something. Because if im gonna spend 900 bux on these things they better last me a long time. Plus you can get them revalved also. That's always a good thing.

I heard Tien's are totally the way to go. I am on a Skunk2 - AGX setup and it handles good but ride quality is quite bumpy, which is expected. Someday I do hope to go full coilover and mine will be Tien

teins are goood. SS should satisfy most people. If you want to pretend the street are smooth and safe to take at high speeds get that RA. RA cost more and you need ITR rear lower control arms (80-100 each) but are a lot more stiffer than SS.

just use wd40 on the chrome sleevings not the entire thing. wipe them clean before spraying.

Yea. Any sets of Teins are great. The the shock setup is great that u can set it up to ride like stock with out get dizzy from bumpy roads. Plus had mine through winter in VA and so far no rust and that is on the SS's. I think the Flex has a weather treated black coat. So I say Tein. But, my buddy had the Koni and GC setup and with some adjustments that did just as well. But, I say Tein would be a great way to go.

Love my SS!
