CBR600RR vs. R6
I've been to look at both the CBR600RR and the Yamaha R6. Being a previous owner of a CBR F3, I was likeing the Honda better. They both look hot and they are both in the same class. I am being offered $8,235 plus accesories at cost for the R6 out the door. ~$8,900 plus accesories at cost for the 600RR. I'm not really sure which to get. They are both really nice handling bikes and quick. I'm also 6'2 so maybe the CBR600RR would be more comfortable, but I'm not really gonna be comfortable on a sport bike... Damn, why did Honda and Yamaha have to both make nice bikes.
Any comments/suggestions/opinions from you guys would help me out alot.
Thanks
Jin

I would say the r6 because it has always been one of my favorite bikes and plus i hate the exhaust placement on the new rr's....just my opinion....
Where did u get your quotes at??? Chicago Cycle Center is said to have a RR in May... They only had one and it was sold the first day to someone in Michigan i think... I was debating on the two choices your having trouble with... My qoute for the R6 is 8,000 out the door... The RR should be around $500 above the R6... Personnally i like the RR for the exhaust (wont burn anyones leg as much unless u stick your leg under the wheel)... But the black with red flames R6 took my heart... I never rode any of these bikes cuz i just got my licenses a few days ago... Good luck...

Yea, just shut the **** up if you don't know what you're talking about. That way noone will know you're a dumbass. Btw, I got a test ride on the 03 R6 and it feels much improved over the prior generation. Haven't riddent he 600rr so no personal comparo.
R6's are winning and placing high in most of the AMA Supersport races ......... With Fuel Inject. now, it is hard to beat.
I always pick a winner ........
Plus I'm partial to Yamahas .............. pricing one up right now (working on the wife to get it really .....)

OK lets figure out a few things...
Honda... cool underseat exhaust= cost more for aftermarket exhaust. Honda weighs a decent amount more than yamaha. so even if the honda pulls an extra 1-2 hp...it will lose it's effect with weight. Honda still looks like the F2 with some upgrades(IMO). $500 more just to start. Great Suspension though!!
Yamaha...now FI... which when Carb'd...would still hold it's own against all others. Now FI, second lightest in class, down about 2 hp from Honda/Kaw, but wieght reduction equals this out. Suspension great (but could be stiffer), chassis excellent. Got mine for $7700 OTD.
The honda's are hot and prices probably aren't moving down any. So with the $500 price difference of the honda, plus the fact that you can definately get the R6 out the door for about $300-$400 below... you are looking at about an extra $800 to put into the R6 to make it badder than it already is. No waiting or anything.
That's most of the cost of the new rear shock if you want to handle better, or the forks revalved if you prefer, or pipe and PC. To me that is the way to go.
Both bikes look badass but as you can see I'm more of an R6 guy. Common' I traded my 9RR for an R6! I never thought that would be possible.
Never rode the Honda but want to. Don't think it will change my mind on my R6 but who knows. It's all about preference. The best thing ever is to have friends with both. That's what I'm doing. Can't wait for the 6RR so I can ride it.
R6 is also now getting recognized with power add ons. Everyone is saying that there is hidden power in them. Another thing is that yamaha even claims 8 hp midrange and 5 peak with their factory exhaust.

WTF?! LMFAO!!
WTF?! LMFAO!!
i was looking at both the R6 and the 600RR today and both are so nice. I cant decide between the two!! The fact that the R6 is cheaper and much more readily available is nice. If i had a choice i would get the 600RR in yellow but it will be awhile before they get here if i can even get one. They are in limited numbers, and really hard to get right now. SO i dont know which one to get!!!!
man, i normally dont chime in on these types of topics but the CBR 600RR is kicking EVERYBODIES *** at the track... Ive seen a few races lately and most of the time they are first and second place....
600rr is what you want this time..

get the bike that you think looks the best, and that you feel most comfortable on. everyone is gonna get these bikes when they come out, so its not like you'll be the only one. who cares that this bike or that bike is beating the others at the track. you will not be riding the bike like those pros; unless you are one of those pros, and if you were, you wouldnt be askin. all sportbikes are fast, so get the one you like.
I would go for the 600 RR. The thing is fast. Sport Rider clocked at 162 mph and it ran a 10.7/10.8 1/4. It was quickest in roll on performance too. The bike dynoed around 107 whp STOCK. Put a full system and power commander and you could be looking at around 115 whp!! Or......you could pick up a 954 for about the same amount of money as the 600RR. Do a search on Lakehill Motors. They sell Hondas (Yamaha too) real cheap!
The 600RR and the R6 are the two most uncomfortable bikes in the class. They both bend you over the tank. Who cares which bike is faster. They are all so close you should choose the bike based on your preferences. You will never use the full potential of the RR so if money is an issue, get a 6R or F4i. There is a place in Ohio(i think) selling new F4i's for like 6500, sick deals. I'll try to find the link...
