Default b series swap for 1500?

My brother is wanting to do a swap on his 92 CX he is wanting to go B series and he's got 1500 he said he wants to change his timing belt and waterpump and clutch for sure. I dont' know if that is resonable I tried searching but i'm not sure, he said he doesn't care what engine he just wants it to be a b series, and wants a hydrolic clutch. Thanks

Get a B18B1, you should be able to afford one and have money left over for the waterpump/timing belt, and clutch for that price.

Yeah Tell him to get a B18B , that the cheapest swap he'll find for his car, I just bought a 1995 B18B motor and Tranny W/Shift Linkage and Half Shaft for $700 W/Papers, I still need Distributor, Starter, Clutch, Axles, and a few Mounts

see that's what i told him, but when i looked online for them, they are pretty pricey, actually they are up there with b16's like on hmotorsonline.com they are like 2200 for the complete swap, I'm not for sure where to get one for the cheap price, and also, will he be able to run stock ecu on it?

im planning on the b16 swap with LSD shipped to my door is $2950 and then save up for B20 and use the bottom end for b20 VTEC! i think i can find a CRV engine for bout $800. i thnik the complete changeover has everythign u need for the swap, including the ECU. i think...

i say save up more money and get soemthign good and affordable, i been saving for awhile and i can almost go enough for b16 swap. u can try ebay, but be careful.

Go here http://www.evanshondaspecialist.com and buy a B16A motor only for $850, then find a tranny for like $250-500, use the rest for clutch, axles, halfshaft, and ECU.

i pieced my LS together from the junk yards......

i ended up spending $1300 for a 95spec LS with LS tranny, mounts, linkage, new timing belt, water pump, and plugs/wires

well junkyards are probably ur best bet for a ls swap.... they can't be that expensive, considering most integras driven in the country are b18b anyways... good luck on ur brother's quest... l8rz

Huh? Sad? Cuz its stolen? I think I'd be hard pressed to find a legit GSR swap with papers for that much.

Damn right its stolen, thats the sad part. Between urbantheft.com and the kids ont he streets, u can get non legit **** for 1/2 or less of legit price, makes it real hard to justify spending all that money on legit ****. Ive been lucky and found good deals on legit ****, but just saying.

Classifieds are your best bet...

Yea there used to be 99 - 00 GSR FULL SWAPS around this area for about $1500 but they were not legit...The cops cleaned my area when they found out about this though...It was great, all the civics that had stolen motors were just pulled over and waiting for the tow trucks to come...I guess they were saying good bye to their cars HA!!!!!!!!!!

good luck with the b18b swap dude

YEah it really does make it hard. You going to pay 1200-1500+ for ITR suspension when u can get it for 750? You going to drop 3-4k on a gsr swap when its easily had for half that, re stamped with legit numbers? I dunno about you, but im not rich enough to be that righteous. In my case, i got lucky and found a good deal on a motor, but im just saying, with the driving down of "street" prices, its kinda hard to go out, be a decent person, buy legit ****, and then have it get stolen and resold at street prices.

How good are these people, I haven't really heard much about them? And that's the cheapest b18b i've seen.

No it wasn't a shop, but the guy I bought the motor from paid $550 for the motor from Royal which is in Queens Ny, he didn't get the tranny from there though.
